My A*Muse Business Launch Open House will be held from 1-4pm on May 5th at Casa Seeger (my house) -- let me know if you are in the area and need more details. Hoot Hoot Hooray!

This week my friend unexpectedly* received the Teacher of the Year award, so I made her a quick card:

Inside: Owl that hard work paid off!

(*unexpected only because this is her first year AND she teaches math (bleh) to first year students -- so for her to beat out the rest of the faculty means there was an overwhelming student response in her favor!)

I love how this came out -- and how quick it was. I have 2 owl sets and this Stampin' Up! owl punch, and can't wait to add the set from A*Muse to my (growing) owl collection . . .

Red, Black & White

I decided to try a sketch challange this week  -- using my new A*Muse Studio stamps, of course. While the result didn't exactly work for the challenge, I am happy with the result:

I'll try to stick to the sketch better next time (perhaps) so I can enter my creation. Here is the original:

I found the cutest set of placecard holders at World Market  to match the set, and plan on using them all to display some of the cards I've made at my Open House on May 5th (more on that later)! I'll use some of the other travel sets as well, the pacecard holders include several European landmarks, and so anything I make with British Invasion will fit right in as well.

And, since I had my stamps and ink out --and it was a dear colleague's birthday -- the Star card got a make-over:

I love the way the A*Muse ink embosses, and although you can't see it on the photo, it really added to the texture of the card -- especially since I embossed the red, but not the black stars!

April Showers -- A*Muse|Studio Spotlight

With the new month comes a new A*Muse Spotlight -- as well as special pricing on the sets and coordinating paper used to make the projects included!

A friend wanted to make a golf-themed birthday card for one of our colleagues -- I came up with this, and she made one fairly similar:

I also made a couple of cards to "test out" more of the stamps from my starter kit -- I'm pretty sure that the star birthday card will be seen in a wide variety of colors before the year is through, but this one has such a nice "Texasy" feel:

Single layered, but the great A*Muse ink colors make this a fun card.

Today was busy -- my church is moving locations so we packed up on one side and unpacked across town, but I hope to start on my second "Crafty Forward" contribution tomorrow (after cleaning up where one of the IKEA shelves fell over while we were out today -- what a mess!)

You Rock!

Yesterday a colleague helped me teach a class, so as a quick thank you I created this card before work this morning:

Kevin, you really DO rock!

I love that I was able to create such a CUTE and QUICK card with just items from my A*Muse|Studio srarter kit! This is a fitting card, too, because although he now has a big title (Asst. Dean) he is still the fun and rockin' guy that he was a faculty.

Weekend Retreat

I had the good fortune to attend a weekend craft retreat with my "retreat friends" Stephanie, Jill and Lillie. In addition to scrapping pages for my son's Boy Scouts and Middle School books, I finished a FB Crafty Forward* for a friend -- a set of ATCs, each with a different technique/style:

I also made a couple of things with my new A*Muse|Studios kit (in addition to 2 of the ATCs above -- the gumball machine and the road of life):

 I love the matching "accessories" on the elephant!

(This is for a consultant that was recently diagnosed with breast cancer -- just to brighten her day)

I added some Stickles to jazz this up -- it is smaller and will become a card when I figure out just the right background pieces to coordinate with this great red polka dot paper!
